Rula Deeb to Deliver Three Presentations at ITRC PFAS Training

Rula Deeb, Ph.D., BCEEM (California) will deliver three presentations at Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Training sponsored by the Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council (ITRC) and Washington State Department of Ecology in Tacoma, Washington on October 24, 2019.

Rula is a Senior Principal based in California with more than 25 years of experience focused on private practice and academia addressing the cross-media fate and transport of contaminants and the remediation of complex soil and groundwater sites impacted by non-aqueous phase liquids.

The ITRC PFAS teams have planned a series of training events led by experts from state and federal agencies, academia, and private industry. The training events will explore the key elements for characterizing and managing PFAS impacted sites. Topics of discussion include: site characterization (sampling and analysis), complex mechanisms that impact fate and transport, current and potential remediation technologies, AFFF, and PFAS risk communications. State and federal environmental and health agencies, tribes, local governments, communities and others interested in learning about PFAS are encouraged to attend. The training events are FREE for state and federal employees, academics, and public stakeholders. Travel scholarships are available for State staff in limited quantity for each of the events.

The Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) is a state-led coalition working to reduce barriers to the use of innovative air, water, waste, and remediation environmental technologies and processes. ITRC produces documents and training that broaden and deepen technical knowledge and expedite quality regulatory decision making while protecting human health and the environment. With public and private sector members from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, ITRC truly provides a national perspective.
