Geosyntec to Contribute to DFI 44th Annual Conference

Several Geosyntec practitioners will contribute to the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI)'s 44th Annual Conference on Deep Foundations. The conference will be held at the Hilton Chicago from October 15-18, 2019.

Geosyntec practitioners delivering presentations are: Jamey Rosen, P.Geo., Amir Ahmadipur, Ph.D., Daniel Woeste, P.E., and Robert Bachus, Ph.D., P.E.

Jamey is a Senior Principal Geoscientist based in Ontario with more than 20 years of experience focused on Geospatial Information Management System design and development. Jamey has built systems to validate, manage, analyze and visualize construction, geotechnical, and environmental data for projects and facilities in the United States and Canada

Amir is a Senior Staff Professional based in Texas focused on geotechnical instrumentation and data management, slope stability, rapid granular flows, landslides, foundation engineering, geothermal pile foundations, and soil behavior.

Daniel is a Project Engineer based in Ohio with a focus on geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, field QC/QA services, and geostructural engineering. He is responsible for providing engineering and project management support on multi-disciplinary geotechnical, geostructural, and geoenvironmental projects, including reviewing/analyzing existing data, writing technical reports, performing geotechnical analyses, feasibility studies, and field monitoring of subsurface investigations and construction activities.

Robert is a Senior Principal engineer based in Georgia with more than 30 years of professional experience focused on geotechnical engineering, geoenvironmental engineering, waste by-product characterization, and the permitting and design of waste containment facilities. He provides analysis, design, and forensic investigation services on projects related to these practice areas. He also provides expert consultation on matters in litigation.

The conference will be a call to action to develop forward-thinking plans in geotechnical engineering through technical presentations and panel discussions. It will provide an international forum for a wide range of geo-professionals to present, discuss, and debate all aspects of how they build on current success to create and maintain a better tomorrow for attendees and future generations. A session will be dedicated to the DFI Legends program to recognize practitioners who have made significant contributions to and advancements in the research, design, construction, manufacturing and use of deep foundations.

DFI is an international association of contractors, engineers, manufacturers, suppliers, academics and owners in the deep foundations industry. Its multidisciplinary membership creates a consensus voice and a common vision for continual improvement in the planning, design and construction of deep foundations and excavations. It brings together members through networking, education, communication and collaboration and promotes the advancement of the deep foundations industry through technical committees, educational programs and conferences, publication of guides and specifications, a peer-reviewed journal, a flagship magazine, research, government relations and outreach. DFI has more than 3,300 involved, knowledgeable and committed members worldwide.
