George Hollerbach and Joseph Cleary to Present on Pharmaceuticals in the Environment at Stevens Institute of Technology Fall Sustainability Series
George Hollerbach, P.E., CSP (New Jersey) and Joseph Cleary, P.E., BCEE (New Jersey) will present "Pharmaceuticals in the Environment: Status and the Treatment Alternatives" at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, during their Fall Sustainability Series from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. on October 10, 2018.
This will be a live event and the seminar will be broadcast live via the Stevens WebCampus and Blackboard Collaborate.
George is a Senior Principal Engineer based in New Jersey with more than 35 years of experience focused on water and wastewater, remediation, construction management, environmental health and safety, and pharmaceutical projects.
Joseph is a Principal Environmental Engineer based in New Jersey with more than 42 years of experience focused on industrial wastewater, water reuse, waste to energy, and groundwater remediation.

Abstract
Microconstituents in wastewater are composed of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) and endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs). This session will focus on the issues being evaluated by the pharmaceutical industry to advance its understanding of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) including EDCs and antibiotic/antimicrobial agents, their release in the environment and some of the source control techniques and wastewater treatment alternatives that are working in practice.More Information
