Bob Bachus to Present at the 4th Annual Symposium on Geotechnical Engineering at North Carolina State University

Bob Bachus, Ph.D., P.E., D.GE (Georgia) will be the featured closing speaker at the 4th Annual Symposium on Geotechnical Engineering presented by the Geo-Institute Graduate Student Organization at North Carolina State University (NCSU) on June 1, 2018.

The topic of Bob's presentation is "Where Are the Giants ... A Tribute to Professor George F. Sowers."

Bob is a Senior Principal engineer based in Georgia with more than 30 years of experience focused on geotechnical engineering, geoenvironmental engineering, waste by-product characterization, and the permitting and design of waste containment facilities. He provides analysis, design, and forensic investigation services on projects related to these practice areas. He also provides expert consultation on matters in litigation.

The annual symposium on geotechnical engineering is held by the Geo-Institute graduate student organization at NCSU. This symposium serves as a forum for engineers to present and share their projects and also provides an opportunity for geotechnical engineering students from NCSU to showcase their research.

The mission of Student Organization of the Geo-Institute is to be a student- led body that functions to enhance the educational and personal experience of students in the geo-engineering community at NCSU. The organization is committed to increasing student awareness of the geotechnical engineering profession as well as the NCSU 's reputation as a leader in graduate geotechnical engineering education.
