Antony Jones Co-Authors Two Chapters for Book on Product Stewardship

Antony Jones (California) co-authored two chapters in the Professional Practices of Product Stewardship book published by the Product Stewardship Society and American Industrial Hygiene Association on February 26, 2018.

Tony co-authored chapters entitled "Product Exposure Assessment" and "Product Risk Characterization." He has 17 years of consulting experience in academia and industry, on projects in the United Kingdom, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, India, Spain, and the United States. Tony has broad experience helping clients with site assessment, characterization and remediation with a range of chemical, radiological and biological contaminants. He specializes on microbial risk assessment, microbial contamination of water resources, contamination of products and processes, microbial aspects of industrial hygiene, microbial degradation of contaminants, microbial regulatory compliance and applications of biotechnology on behalf of public and private sector clients.

Product stewardship is an evolving and expanding area of concern and opportunity for companies and society. There are an ever-increasing number of individuals with "Product Stewardship" in their job title and responsibilities within the organizations they support. However, there has not been a concise reference of professional practices for this highly important responsibility in maintaining an organization's "license to operate" with the public. This publication provides insight into the core areas of product stewardship, including the fundamentals of product stewardship, product risk management, product life cycle management, management of product compliance and liability, and product stewardship strategy and program management. It also offers guidance and support to those new to product stewardship and those who have been involved for many years.

The Product Stewardship Society enables professionals to promote responsible design, development, and management of products throughout their life cycle. The Product Stewardship Society was formed to more clearly define roles for product stewardship professionals.
