Joe Cleary to Present on Pharmaceuticals in the Environment
Joe Cleary, P.E., BCEE (New Jersey) is scheduled to co-present the topic "Pharmaceuticals in the Environment: Status and the Treatment Alternatives" at Stevens Institute of Technology (Stevens) in Hoboken, New Jersey from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. ET on March 21.
The presentation will focus on source control techniques and wastewater treatment alternatives in response to active pharmaceutical ingredients including personal care products, endocrine disrupting compounds, as well as antibiotic and antimicrobial agents that are present in wastewater.
Joe is a national leader regarding microconstituents in wastewater and has more than 40 years of experience in environmental engineering consulting, specializing in industrial wastewater treatment and hazardous waste remediation.
Joe's co-presenter is George Hollerbach, a founding Principal at Quantum Management Group (now BSI) who is a highly experienced environmental engineer with over 35 years of experience working with pharmaceutical clients. Quantum is a client of Geosyntec.
The presentation is part of Stevens' spring Sustainability Seminar Series, and is open to the public. The venue is in the Altorfer building on Stevens' campus. The seminar will also be live webcast via Stevens WebCampus and Blackboard Collaborate (requires downloading a program).
