SiREM Expands Range of Passive Samplers for VOC Vapor Monitoring with the Waterloo Membrane Sampler
SiREM (a division of Geosyntec) has launched an independent website for the Waterloo Membrane Sampler TM (WMS). WMS is a unique passive sampler that can be used for indoor air, ambient air, sub-slab vapor and soil gas sampling of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
WMS was developed at the University of Waterloo by Drs. Tadeusz Górecki and Suresh Seethapathy. The researchers had identified a need for a passive sampler with resistance to water vapor, which can saturate the sorbent present in passive samplers, for sampling in environmental vapor matrices where water vapor concentrations can be high, such as in soil gas, and they believed that the unique design of the WMS™ gave it an exclusive position in the marketplace for passive samplers. Past and on-going research at the University of Waterloo provides solid scientific underpinning for the sampler and its uses.
The new WMS site showcases the WMS, including: the various uses for the samplers, where to get the samplers, its origins, the science behind the product, standard operating procedures for users (including downloadable user guides), a sampling duration calculator, list of publications; and technical information on the samplers.
SiREM was founded in 2002 to provide the highest quality testing services and remediation products combined with unparalleled technical support to increase remediation effectiveness, decrease remediation costs and provide peace of mind during field implementation. Our focus is the remediation of chlorinated solvents, metals, petroleum hydrocarbons and other recalcitrant contaminants in soil, sediment and groundwater.
