Andrea Braga Featured in IECA’s Environmental Connection Magazine

Andrea Braga (Massachusetts) is featured in an article entitled "How to Avoid Construction Site Compliance Violations: An IECA Conference Preview," in Environmental Connection magazine from the International Erosion Control Association (IECA) in the September/October 2017 issue.

Andrea provided an interview and a preview of her presentation for the upcoming 2018 IECA Annual Conference in February in Long Beach, California. Her presentation is for engineers and contractors who want to keep water resources clean.

Over the past 12 years, Andrea has helped clients at sites across the United States. Her presentation will share her experience and solutions for compliance issues found on construction sites. The goal of her presentation is to help others avoid the mistakes that lead to regulatory fines and enforcement. According to Andrea, one of the most common (and easiest to mitigate!) regulatory compliance issues at large construction sites is not keeping current permit-required documentation such as progress maps and regular stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) inspection reports that need to be kept on site. Attendees can expect photos and examples based on her experience.

Andrea Braga is a Principal Water Resources Engineer based in Massachusetts with more than 12 years of professional experience focused on helping clients develop innovative solutions to their complex water quality, flooding, and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance issues. She specializes in stormwater system design, modeling, and analysis from project planning and permitting to whole life-cycle costing, construction oversight, monitoring, and maintenance.

Environmental Connection magazine is the official publication of the International Erosion Control Association. It publishes articles written by members and others in the erosion and sediment control and stormwater industries. Technical articles have been peer reviewed, and every article that has been reviewed is clearly indicated. Their goal is to publish articles that report both the practical applications of research findings and the knowledge gained by experienced professionals.
