Jay Thompson (Minneapolis) is teaching a course on environmental forensics to graduate and advanced undergraduate students at North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo, North Dakota.

The course, entitled "Environmental Forensics and Remediation," provides students with a broad overview of the chemical, mathematical, and statistical tools used by practitioners in environmental forensics engagements.
Jay is an environmental engineer with expertise in environmental remediation, litigation support, fate and transport modeling, and sustainability. Experienced in environmental physico-chemical laboratory techniques, pilot-scale field investigations, mathematical modeling, and life-cycle assessment.

The Department of Civil Engineering at NDSU offers the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in civil engineering and the M.S. degree in environmental engineering. Also, the College of Engineering and Architecture offers a program leading to a Ph.D. degree in engineering in which civil engineering is a possible area of specialization. The department also participates in several interdisciplinary programs such as Environmental and Conservation Sciences, Materials & Nanotechnology and Transportation and Logistics.
