Geosyntec Participation at Vapor Intrusion: The Conference II
Geosyntec staff will make a significant technical contribution to Vapor Intrusion: The Conference II – Legal, Technical and Regulatory Perspectives at Hilton University Place in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 5-6, 2017.
Geosyntec professionals will moderate a technical session, and deliver three presentations.
Vapor intrusion continues to be a major topic of discussion in the environmental industry. Since the first vapor intrusion (VI) conference organized by the Association of Environmental & Engineering Geologists (AEG) Carolinas in 2014, the U.S. EPA and many states, including North Carolina, have published several technical guidance documents on vapor intrusion. A revised toxicological profile for trichloroethylene (TCE) has also spurred a renewed interest in VI. With the large volume of regulatory guidance and updates, AEG Carolinas believes that now is a good time for another regional conference on VI to address the current state of the practice. The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) Division of Waste Management will again co-host the conference.
The AEG Carolinas Chapter has been in existence as a separate Chapter of AEG since 1988. AEG Carolinas serves the environmental and engineering geology profession and the public in North Carolina and South Carolina.
AEG contributes to its members' professional success and the public welfare by providing leadership, advocacy, and applied research in environmental and engineering geology.
