Ranjiv Gupta to Present Two-Day Short Course on Slope Stability of Containment Systems

Ranjiv Gupta (Arizona) will co-present a two-day short course with Jeffrey Kuhn, Director of the Geotechnical Laboratory at TRI Environmental (TRI). The course, entitled "Slope Stability of Containment Systems: Understanding Issues Related to Design and Interface Friction Testing," will take place at TRI in Austin, Texas on May 23-24, 2017.

Ranjiv has over ten years of academic and professional experience in the field of geotechnical, geoenvironmental and geosynthetics engineering. Since joining Geosyntec, he has been involved with geotechnical and forensic investigations at national and international sites. This work involved supervising drilling and CPT's on remote sites, coordinating soil and rock sample collection and quality control for laboratory testing, interpreting results and preparing expert witness reports, and providing support for implementing remedial measures.

The course is specifically targeted to people who need to understand and specify interface friction and direct shear tests; and who use these results in subsequent design, construction, and performance monitoring of containment structures. Participants include: Design, Consulting and Certifying Engineers, Construction and Quality Assurance Managers, Manufacturers, Installers and Contractors, Third-Party Inspectors, Regulators.

TRI/Environmental, Inc. has been active in materials testing, inspection, and research and development for 20+ years. TRI is an independent, third-party laboratory and consulting firm unaffiliated with any manufacturing, engineering/consulting, or construction management firm. TRI's geosynthetics testing laboratories provide a variety of services.
