Teresa Fischer Certified by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists
Geosyntec's Teresa Fischer (Tennessee) was certified by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES) as a Board Certified Environmental Scientist (BCES) with specialization in Hazardous Waste Management and Site Remediation.
She is a Senior Geologist based in Knoxville, Tennessee with more than 28 years of experience in environmental consulting. Teresa specializes in the areas of site investigation and remediation; due diligence; and compliance program development and auditing. She has focused particularly on environmental management and evaluating the risk in using waste disposal vendors. Theresa has served as a program manager for site investigation and remediation; environmental compliance; and due diligence for clients in the transportation; oil and gas; manufacturing; real estate development; legal; and government sectors.
Her communication skills and ability to explain technically complex issues in terms understandable to nonexperts have proven helpful in dealing with projects located in sensitive areas where public outreach activities have been necessary to promote public understanding. These proactive efforts have been instrumental in ensuring successful project completion.
Teresa has extensive experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects under various regulatory regimes. She has served as an expert witness in a number of litigation cases for cost-recovery purposes, and she has managed a wide spectrum of field activities. Well-versed in environmental regulations, she has demonstrated her ability to work well with local, state, and federal regulatory officials.
The American Academy of Environmental Engineering and Scientists is a not-for-profit 501(c)(6) organization serving the Environmental Engineering and Environmental Science professions by providing Board Certification to those who qualify through experience and testing.
