Brandon Klenzendorf Awarded 2016 Texas Outstanding Young Engineer of the Year by TSPE

Brandon Klenzendorf (Texas) was named the 2016 Texas Outstanding Young Engineer of the Year by the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) at the 2016 Professional Engineers Conference in Dallas, Texas on June 24, 2016.

The award recognizes a young TSPE member who has made outstanding contributions to the engineering profession and the community. For the last four years, Brandon chaired the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Austin Branch University of Texas Mentoring Committee. In this program, practicing engineers mentor undergraduates in an engineering professionalism course and help students take on real-world projects with clients and stakeholders.

He expanded the program by increasing the number of mentors and creating a permanent agreement with the ASCE Austin Branch to support the course. Brandon also led volunteers in the construction of four rain gardens at public schools in Austin designed by students as a part of this program.
