Brandon Klenzendorf Awarded TSPE Engineer of the Year

Brandon Klenzendorf (Texas) was awarded the Young Engineer of the Year by the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) Travis Chapter at the Engineer's Banquet on February 26, 2016.

The award recognizes a young TSPE member who has made outstanding contributions to the engineering profession and the community. For the last four years, Brandon chaired the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) University of Texas Mentoring Committee. In this program, practicing engineers mentor undergraduates in an engineering professionalism course and help students take on real-world projects with clients and stakeholders.

He expanded the program by increasing the number of mentors and creating a permanent agreement with the ASCE Austin Branch to support the course. Brandon also led volunteers in the construction of three rain gardens at public schools in Austin, with a fourth rain garden slated for construction this Spring.
