Geosyntec Practitioners Contribute to LNAPL Illustrated Handbook released by CL:AIRE

Contaminated Land: Applications in Real Environments (CL:AIRE) is an independent not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of, and confidence in, practical and sustainable remediation technologies in the United Kingdom.  Geosyntec practitioners were contributing authors to CL:AIRE's recent document entitled "Illustrated Handbook of LNAPL Transport and Fate in the Subsurface", released 18 December 2014.  Geosyntec's Gary Wealthall, Ph.D. and Derek Tomlinson, P.E., P.Eng. are contributing authors to the document, and Peter Zeeb, Ph.D., P.G., LSP was a member of the steering board.  The Geosyntec graphics team, comprising Pam Wood and Lisa Walters, created a unique set of conceptual model illustrations.  The LNAPL illustrated handbook presents best-practice guidance for the assessment and remediation of light non-aqueous phase liquids (LNAPLs) in the subsurface.  The handbook facilitates access to a wealth of detailed research, guidance and case study literature within the various topics covered. It will be useful to the practitioner and research communities, and also provide a valuable educational resource to others having a less direct interest or specialized knowledge.  The production of the LNAPL illustrated handbook was funded by Shell Global Solutions (UK), supported by the Environment Agency and coordinated by CL:AIRE.

The LNAPL Illustrated Handbook can be downloaded from www.claire.co.uk/LNAPL.
