Mike Hardin Instructor for the BMPTRAINS Model Training Workshop at UCF’s Stormwater Management Academy

Mike Hardin, Ph.D., P.E, (Orlando) will serve as an instructor for the University of Central Florida’s Stormwater Management Academy’s BMPTRAINS Model Training Workshop. The workshop provides participants with essential knowledge for use of the BMPTRAINS model to assist in the analysis and design of Stormwater Best Management Practices for nutrient removal. It also aids in defining and setting up input data required to estimate annual loads and effectiveness for treatment trains using the BMPTRAINS program.

The workshop will cover the value of BMPTRAINS, training expectations and evaluation, review of computer models, series and parallel configurations, BMPs, effectiveness on an annual basis, and state climate zones, as well as the background and methodologies pertaining to retention and detention, swales, harvesting, bio-retention, pre and post catchment characteristics, event mean concentrations, watershed conditions, and the basis for nutrient removal calculations for different classes of BMPs.

The workshop will be help on May 7, 2015 from 9am – 4pm at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL.
