Geosyntec Issues Summary of New 2015 EPA Vapor Intrusion Guidance

Senior Consultant Helen Dawson, Ph.D., (Washington, DC) wrote a key summary of the EPA's June 2015 "Technical Guide for Assessing and Mitigating the Vapor Intrusion Pathway."

This summary is a valuable way to inform clients and stakeholders about the ways that the new EPA guidance might affect vapor intrusion investigations going forward. Geosyntec's Vapor Intrusion Practice Team leveraged the new guidance as a valuable opportunity to promote the technical and regulatory expertise that continues to make Geosyntec a leading innovator in the vapor intrusion world.

As one of the primary authors of the EPA's 2002 Draft Guidance for Evaluating the Vapor Intrusion to Indoor Air Pathway from Groundwater and Soils, Helen was well-positioned to clarify and summarize the key differences between the EPA's 2002 and 2015 VI guides. The policies and recommendations in the 2015 guidance address key factors related to vapor intrusion assessments, risk management decisions, and mitigation actions.
