Geosyntec Practitioners Contribute to EPRI’s MGP DNAPL Mobility Work Plan

Geosyntec Principal Gary Wealthall, Ph.D. (Guelph) and Sr. Engineer Derek Tomlinson, P.E., P.Eng. (Philadelphia) were contributing authors to the Electric Power Research Institute’s (EPRI) recent document entitled “Generic Work Plan to Assess Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid Mobility in the Subsurface at Manufactured Gas Plant Sites.”

This work plan, published August 4, 2015, provides standardized characterization protocols for assessing subsurface DNAPL mobility that can be reproduced at multiple manufactured gas plant (MGP) sites to yield an industry-wide DNAPL mobility database. This databased can then be used to assist in the interpretation of site-specific DNAPL characterization data.

The Electric Power Research Institute Inc. (EPRI) is an independent, non-profit organization that conducts research, development, and demonstration relating to the generation, delivery, and use of electricity for the benefit of the public.
