Geosyntec Welcomes New Senior Practitioners to Family of Companies

C. Fabian Benavente
Senior Engineer, Geosyntec

Fabian Benavente, P.E., has more than 15 years of experience as a civil engineer specializing in environmental engineering and hydraulics and hydrology consulting, primarily for sites in Florida and South America. He also possesses construction management experience, having served as the construction quality assurance manager and certifying engineer for several municipal and industrial solid waste projects. These included lateral and vertical facility expansions and the construction of new storage cells. Earlier in his career, Fabian consulted for mining clients in Uruguay and Chile, where typical projects addressed engineering challenges posed by tailings dams and evaporation ponds. Ben Martich
Senior Scientist, Geosyntec

Ben Martich, QEP, has more than 17 years of experience in environmental assessment and remediation with a focus on the vapor intrusion (VI) pathway. He is a member of the Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council's Petroleum VI Team, which develops guidance and training for regulatory agencies and practitioners regarding investigative tools and mitigation approaches. Ben's broader technical base includes the characterization, modeling, and remediation of soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents. His previous clients include the Montana Department of Environmental Quality, the U.S. EPA, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, oil companies, defense contractors, and municipalities. Aaron Volkening
Senior Engineer, Geosyntec

Aaron Volkening, P.E., is a civil engineer with more than 15 years of experience in water resources engineering. His past projects included hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for the planning and design of water resources storage and conveyance infrastructure; floodplain modeling, mapping, and management; stormwater management, stormwater planning, and site design review; urban non-point source pollution modeling; and civil infrastructure design. Aaron periodically serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, teaching upper-level civil engineering electives in hydrology and water resources.
