Practitioners Promoted to Senior Roles at Geosyntec, SiREM, and MMI Engineering

Phil Dennis
Senior Scientist, SiREM
Toronto

Phil Dennis has more than 20 years of experience in research and management of molecular biology, microbiology, and environmental remediation laboratories. He held a key role in the initial planning and startup of SiREM and the development and implementation of the lab's products and services. Phil currently manages molecular analytical services and research and development projects for SiREM. He also is an adjunct lecturer at the University of Toronto, where he teaches environmental microbiology. Phil is a lead author or co-author on more than 30 peer-reviewed and conference papers and regularly presents at industry conferences on the topics of environmental genetic testing and biodegradation. Sandra Dworatzek
Senior Scientist, SiREM

Sandra Dworatzek has more than 20 years of experience in bench-scale testing of bioremediation technologies. She provides technical oversight of SIREM's treatability testing services as well as bioaugmentation culture development and production. Sandra specializes in the design of laboratory treatability studies and field pilot tests as well as the evaluation of zero valent iron and chemical oxidation technologies. Geoffrey Frieman
Senior Scientist, Geosyntec

Geoffrey Frieman, P.G., has more than 12 years of experience in environmental due diligence, site assessment and remediation, and vapor intrusion evaluation. His practice centers on multimedia assessment and remediation of dry cleaners, petroleum distribution and storage facilities, burn dumps, and former land disposal sites. Geoff recently managed due diligence and remediation projects for the Los Angeles Unified School District's expansive facility upgrade efforts and provides site assessments for the U.S. Navy's land, air, and sea range on San Clemente Island. Turel Gur
Senior Engineer, MMI Engineering

Turel Gur, Ph.D., P.E., has more than 10 years of research and consulting experience, specializing in structural and earthquake engineering. His professional experience includes wave, fatigue, and seismic analysis of offshore oil and gas platforms and wind turbine support structures; assessment and retrofit design for refinery structures; analysis of earthquake effects in fault rupture zones; and analysis of blast effects on structures.
