Brandon Steets to Discuss Updates to California Stormwater Permitting at Environmental Law Seminar
Brandon Steets, P.E., an Associate and water resources engineer based in California, is among the instructors for the upcoming Clean Water and Stormwater in Southern California Seminar in Los Angeles on December 10, 2012.
Organized by Law Seminars International, the seminar features leading environmental and engineering professionals speaking to an audience of lawyers, business executives, consultants, and government officials at the single-day event. Mr. Steets caps off the morning session at 11:15 a.m. with his presentation, "The New Statewide Industrial Permit."
Mr. Steets will co-present with Viviana Heger, an attorney with the California firm of Tropio & Morlan. The seminar will delve into major changes brought about by new industrial stormwater permit requirements in California. Mr. Steets will address the permit's mandates, such as electronic filing of Permit Registration Documents, and new key requirements for stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs).
Mr. Steets is the project manager for the Boeing Santa Susana Field Laboratory Stormwater Expert Panel and is an expert on issues related to stormwater permitting; the evaluation of Numeric Action Level (NAL), Numeric Effluent Limit (NEL), and Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) compliance and implementation; pollutant source identification; and stormwater best management practice (BMP) selection and design.
