Geosyntec to join Participants at SWANA's Landfill Gas Symposium March 19-22

Members of the Geosyntec Consultants team specializing in the long-term management and beneficial use of landfill gas (LFG) will be among the presenters and attendees of the 35th Annual Landfill Gas Symposium, set for March 19-22 in Orlando, Fla.

The event, organized by the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), is considered to be a leading international forum on LFG utilization and technology. During the four-day gathering, attendees examine beneficial use of LFG; methane offset projects; available tax and carbon credits related to LFG; greenhouse gas issues; and legislative and regulatory developments affecting the LFG sector.

For 2012, Geosyntec geologist Chris Lieder (San Diego) will be among the presenters during a case study session examining methods and technology for improved LFG extraction. His case study, Air Injections to Mitigate Methane in Perimeter Probes at an Active Southern California Landfill, will be held during symposium session 4, set for 8:30-10 a.m. on March 21.

Also attending this year's event on behalf of Geosyntec are John Banks (Tampa), Dave Heitz (Greenville), Jim Kelley (Atlanta), Jim Stout (Houston), and Robby White (Greenville).

Geosyntec has a robust portfolio of projects that provide LFG services . We work closely with landfill owners, operators, and contractors in all LFG-related compliance issues and have successfully obtained permits for LFG flares and LFGTE facilities, including in severe non-attainment areas. We have developed strategies at dozens of facilities that allow our clients to manage their air emission portfolios and plan future projects that are compliant with air regulations.
