Dale Prokopchak, C.I.H., C.S.P., Joins Geosyntec as Director of Environmental Health and Safety

Dale Prokopchak, C.I.H., C.S.P., joins Geosyntec with more than 25 years of experience as an environmental health and safety (EH&S) specialist. He comes to us with experience working as an EH&S Director at a consulting firm like ours, working with an industrial manufacturer in managing their environmental and occupational safety program, and working as a state occupational safety regulator — a combination that will benefit us as our clients' needs change and our internal programs evolve. Most recently, Dale supported U.S. EPA and FEMA contractor response efforts associated with disaster recovery programs, such as Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, including development of an extensive medical surveillance program for first response personnel. Dale has also been involved with the response to some of the more challenging events of recent times, including rebuilding infrastructure in Iraq, training U.S. Postal Service personnel in recognizing and managing anthrax threats, and recovering chemicals and debris from the World Trade Center.

Dale earned his B.S. in microbiology and public health and a B.S. in botany from Michigan State University. He received his Masters in industrial hygiene from Wayne State University.
