Geosyntec and MMI Engineering Welcome Rodolfo Sancio as Senior Engineer

HOUSTON, Texas — Geosyntec Consultants and MMI Engineering welcome Rodolfo Sancio, PhD, PE, as Senior Engineer to expand geotechnical engineering services to oil and gas industry clients. He is based in the firm's Houston office.

Rodolfo has over 14 years of geotechnical experience with expertise in the areas of: foundation engineering and site preparation design for large and heavy industrial facilities; issues related to offshore submarine pipelines in cold regions; soil liquefaction ; and specialized geotechnical in situ and laboratory testing. For the past six years, he has focused on onshore and offshore geotechnical engineering issues for the upstream and midstream oil and gas and petrochemical industry. His work has included sites in Saharan and Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, Gulf of Guinea, the North Caspian Sea, Sakhalin Island, and South America.

After acquiring experience in civil construction as well as the design and construction of passive and active retaining systems for natural slopes in weathered rocks, Rodolfo earned both his PhD and MS in geotechnical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, studying softening of fine-grained soils during earthquakes. Previously, he earned his undergraduate civil engineering degree from Universidad Cat_??_lica Andr_???ۡ????s Bello in Caracas, Venezuela.
