Staff to Present at Sediment Management Working Group Fall Sponsor Forum in New York

PORTLAND, Ore. — Geosyntec Consultants' Eric Strecker, PE, will present a paper co-authored with Marcus Quigley, PE, D.WRE and Marc Leisenring, PE, on "Minimizing the Potential for Sediment Recontamination and Associated Liability from Stormwater System Sources" at the Sediment Management Working Group (SMWG) Fall Sponsor Forum in Saratoga Springs, NY, September 29 - 30, 2009.

The presentation will share information on various pollutant types and characteristics in urban and industrial stormwater as well as how they could potentially contribute to the recontamination of sediment remediation sites. An approach for selecting and designing stormwater controls using methods and data contained in recent applied research work for the Water Environment Research Foundation and the National Cooperative Highway Research Program. Lastly, they will present potential options for developing agreements among relative agencies and future site owners and operators regarding recontamination from stormwater when a rigorous stormwater management system is developed and implemented.
