Marcus Quigley Named Diplomate of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers

BOSTON, Ma. — Marcus Quigley, PE, CPESC, of Geosyntec Consultants was recently named a Diplomate, Water Resources Engineer (D.WRE) of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers (AAWRE), a subsidiary of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). In support of AAWRE's mission to broaden and deepen the body of knowledge for practicing engineers, AAWRE's certification was developed to improve the practice, elevate the standards, and advance the profession of water resources engineers. The D.WRE represents strong professional ethics as well as a commitment to life-long learning and continuing professional development.

Marcus is recognized as a national technical leader in stormwater design, innovative research and development, modeling, data analysis, and field data acquisition. He also has extensive experience in the execution and management of major compliance auditing and litigation support projects. Marcus has co-authored a number of national guidance manuals for monitoring of stormwater runoff and evaluating and designing stormwater best management practices (BMPs) for clients such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the National Cooperative Highway Research Program, the Water Environment Research Foundation, and the Federal Highway Administration. In addition to his technical and managerial leadership in a wide range of public and private water resources projects, he has given many invited talks and regularly speaks at technical conferences.

Marcus earned his MS in civil and environmental engineering from Oregon State University and BS in environmental engineering from University of Notre Dame. He is a registered professional engineer and certified professional in sediment and erosion control.

Since the start of AAWRE's Diplomate, Water Resources Engineer program, 500 water resources engineers worldwide have qualified for the Diplomate, Water Resources Engineer credential. For more information on AAWRE, visit www.aawre.org.
