Randy Brandt Presented on COVID-19 and Environmental Law on a Live Webinar as part of the Bar Association of San Francisco Master Series

Randy Brandt, P.G. (California) was invited by the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) to present as a panelist on a live webinar workshop entitled "COVID-19 and Environmental Law-Master Series Roundtable" on April 23, 2020.

Randy Brandt is a Senior Principal Geologist based in California with more than 30 years of management and technical experience with Brownfield and hazardous waste issues. He has focused on development and implementation of environmental restoration programs for blighted hazardous waste sites and contaminated lands ranging in size from gasoline service stations to closed military bases.

The panel was focused on a discussion of how COVID-19 is affecting the general practices of environmental consulting and environmental law. The Panel covered three topic areas, how to verify a business is "essential," the state of the practice safety measures and OSHA authority, and seeking dispensation from a regulatory agency for delaying compliance work. Randy shared real world examples of Geosyntec work that presented challenges in all three topic areas. The Panel consisted of eight attorneys and two environmental consultants.

Randy's co-panelists were J. Tom Boer, Partner, Hunton Andrews Kurth; David D. Cooke, Partner, Allen Matkins; Susan M. Gallardo, Principal Engineer, GSI Environmental; Maureen F. Gorsen, Partner, Alston & Bird; Peggy Otum, Partner, WilmerHale; Andrea P. Sumits, Partner, Environmental General Counsel; William F. Tarantino, Partner, Morrison & Foerster; Emel Washwani, Assistant Chief Counsel, SWRCB, and William D. Wick, Partner, Wactor & Wick.
