Gizem Bozkurt Named to Editorial Board of GEOSTRATA
Gizem Bozkurt, Ph.D., A.M.ASCE (Georgia) has been named to the Editorial Board of GEOSTRATA, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Geo-Institute's (G-I) official bi-monthly magazine.
Gizem Bozkurt is an Engineer based in Georgia. Her primary focus is engineering design and analyses for geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering projects, including civil design and site layout, performing field investigations, site characterization through analysis of laboratory and field data, and stability and settlement assessments of soil slopes and foundations. Additionally, Gizem is actively involved in coal combustion residuals (CCR) management including siting, design, and permitting of CCR disposal facilities.
Gizem's position on GEOSTRATA's Editorial Board was announced in the March-April 2020 issue, which commemorated its 20th anniversary. Additionally, Gizem is a member of G-I's Unsaturated Soils Technical Committee, and she previously served as a point-of-contact for G-I's Student Leadership Council.
GEOSTRATA features articles that cover new technologies and unique projects; provide leadership on educational, professional, and public policy issues; and showcase the unique role and contributions of the geo-professionals.
