Abstract

This webinar will present an update on regulatory-driven and voluntary product reformulation and supply-chain evaluations to reduce the presence of PFAS in consumer and industrial products. Seth will present considerations for transitioning aqueous film-forming foams (AFFF) away from fluorine and she will share experience gained advising facilities on risk-management planning, fluorine-free replacements, and site-specific challenges. Mark will describe key aspects of PFAS and product stewardship initiatives. He will focus on the evolving patchwork of state-level product regulations and definitions of PFAS in the United States and will discuss their intersection with ongoing TSCA 8(a) PFAS reporting and proposed European Union restrictions. Particular attention will be given to efficiency in supply-chain interaction and management of data to meet multiple purposes for compliance and chemicals management, as well as research and development efforts.
