Red Earth Engineering’s Technical Contributions at PASTE 2024

Symon Jackson, Waldo Dressel, Mike Liu, and Marcelo Llano (Australia) from Red Earth Engineering, a Geosyntec Company (REE), presented at the Annual Conference on Paste, Thickened and Filtered Tailings (PASTE) from April 18 through 24, 2024 in Melbourne, Australia. They presented in collaboration with REE client Rio Tinto.

In addition, Geosyntec and REE practitioners Bernardo Meneses, Thanesh Ganeson, and Celeste Harrington were coauthors.

The goal of the PASTE conference is to raise awareness among mining industry leaders about the importance of environmental stewardship and long-term sustainability, especially regarding tailings facilities. The conference is hosted by the Australian Centre for Geomechanics (ACG).

The ACG was established in 1992 as a University of Western Australia not-for-profit research centre to promote research excellence and continuing education in geomechanics, with particular emphasis on its application to the mineral and energy extraction sections of Australia’s resources industry.
