Geosyntec is a sponsor of the 2020 Water in Mining Digital Conference, 28th – 30th September 2020.
Silvia Mancini, Ph.D., P.Geo. (Ontario) Principal Geoscientist and Andrew Holmes, Ph.D., Water Treatment Specialist will be attending the conference.
Rachel James is a Project Professional with more than 10 years of experience in aqueous geochemistry in the mining industry. Rachel conducts predictive water quality and geochemical modeling, interpretation of surface water and groundwater interactions, and geochemical characterization contributing to decisions on operational mine material handling and placement, closure, and reclamation to minimize environmental impact. She also manages collaborative projects to develop, validate, and optimize innovative mine water treatment, including permitting support and performance evaluation for laboratory, field, and full-scale technology.
Kevin Dufresne is a Senior Engineer in the process engineering group of Geosyntec Consultant’s Guelph operations. Kevin has 18 years of broad-based experience with water and wastewater process design, process evaluation, optimization and troubleshooting. He uniquely combines in-depth knowledge of water chemistry, familiarity with the vendor landscape and practical operational experience to successfully address some of the most challenging water treatment applications, including: selenium treatment from mine-impacted waters or coal combustion residuals, zero liquid discharge (ZLD) applications, acid rock drainage (ARD) management, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) treatment, and modular potable and sewage systems for remote work camps. Types of industry projects include potable water and domestic wastewater utilities, mining, boiler feed water pretreatment, heavy industry and food processing facilities.
The 2020 Water in Mining Digital Conference brings together water management leaders from the top 50 global mining companies to network, debate, and discuss the present and future of water in mining.
