Joe Cleary Named 2024 WEF Fellow

Joe Cleary, PE, BCEE, was named a Water Environment Federation (WEF) Fellow and accepted the award at the Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Monday, October 7, 2024.

Joe is a Senior Environmental Engineer based in New Jersey with more than 46 years of experience focusing on industrial wastewater, water reuse, energy recovery energy, and the treatment of emerging contaminants, including pharmaceuticals and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). In addition to being recognized as a subject matter expert in his field, he has worked on industrial wastewater projects in the United States, Puerto Rico, Ireland, Mexico, Brazil, Columbia, India, and China.

WEFTEC Fellows demonstrate outstanding contributions to the global water sector. Each year, 15 fellows are recognized for their professional achievement, stature, and contributions to preserving and enhancing the global water environment.

WEFTEC is the largest conference in North America to offer water quality education and training to water quality professionals from around the world. At WEFTEC, the full breadth of the water sector comes together in one place for attendees to explore, learn, network, grow professionally, and strengthen their connections to the water community.

The conference is sponsored by the Water Environment Federation (WEF), a nonprofit that provides technical education and training for thousands of water quality professionals who clean water and return it safely to the environment.
