Geosyntec to Speak at CCUS Expo
Lynn McGuire, PE, and Alena Raymond, PhD (California), will participate in a panel at the Carbon Capture Technology (CCUS) Expo North America as part of the Carbon Capture, Utilization, Storage & Blue Hydrogen Conference on June 26 and 27, 2024, at the NRG Center in Houston, Texas.
The panel discussion, “A pathway to blue: pioneer’s experience in applying today’s evolving standards to an existing facility’s low carbon products,” will be in collaboration with Coffeyville Resources Nitrogen Fertilizers, LLC, and will happen on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 3:15 p.m. CDT.
Geosyntec’s Anica Haynes, Lori Carter, Eric Kovich, and Bob Sirianni will also attend. Geosyntec staff will be available to answer questions at Booth #806.
Lynn is a Senior Principal Consultant and lead for Energy Transition, Air Quality, and Carbon Management Solutions at Geosyntec with more than 35 years of experience in process and environmental engineering consulting for air quality and greenhouse gas (GHG) management to support corporate programs, permitting, reporting, and sustainability practices.
Alena, a Civil and Environmental Engineer at Geosyntec, focuses on life cycle assessment (LCA) and sustainability. Alena supports Geosyntec’s Energy Transition team on LCA projects across multiple sectors, including energy, oil and gas, chemical, and manufacturing industries.
Coffeyville Resources Nitrogen Fertilizers, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of CVR Partners, LP in Coffeyville, Kansas, is a fertilizer facility in North America that has been capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) in its manufacturing process since 2013. The plant is unique in that it utilizes a petroleum coke, or pet coke, gasification process to produce hydrogen. The CO2 collected at the pet coke gasification unit is used for enhanced oil recovery.
The CCUS Expo North America is a two-day conference dedicated to discussing the role of carbon capture in decarbonizing heavy industry and how the combination of CCS and hydrogen will play a key role in the transition to creating a CO2-neutral energy supply. The expo will unveil the latest current and emerging technologies from some of the sector’s leading experts and energy leaders while providing a showcase for innovative models that can capture carbon’s potential by turning CO2 by-products into profitable applications for concrete, carbon fiber, polymers, food, fertilizers, liquid fuels, chemicals, graphene and more.
