Geosyntec Practitioners Provide Technical Support for NOVAGOLD and the Donlin Gold Project

Geosyntec practitioners Paul Dockweiler, CPG; Jennifer Pretorius, PhD, PGeo; and Rick Sisson, PE, helped create two major technical reports in support of the Donlin Gold project in southwest Alaska on behalf of our client, NOVAGOLD Resources (NOVAGOLD).

Paul, Jennifer, and Rick served as Qualified Persons (QPs) on mine engineering and related environmental topics. In this capacity, they gathered critical information that will help advance the next stages of development. To do this, they visited the site and assessed and reported on matters in their areas of expertise.

Paul led Geosyntec’s involvement with the project and served as QP for environmental, permitting, and community sections of the technical report. Jennifer served as QP for water management and environmental sections. Rick served as QP for the geotechnical and tailings engineering sections.

Paul is a Senior Mining Geologist based in Nevada with more than 25 years of experience focused on the development and start-up of hardrock mining operations. He combines geologic, geotechnical, and metallurgical test work to support successful mining operations.

Jennifer is a Senior Hydrogeologist based in Saskatchewan with more than 25 years of experience focused on managing environmental challenges within mining, industrial, and oil & gas project sites.

Rick is a Senior Consultant based in California with more than 35 years of experience focused on the geotechnical aspects of mining and tailings projects, levees and slopes, earthwork construction, foundations, soft soils, infrastructure, and site investigation.

Geosyntec’s QPs worked alongside QPs from Wood Group USA, Inc., to complete this project.

NOVAGOLD is a precious metals company focused on the development of the Donlin Gold project in Alaska. Donlin Gold, in the southwest of Alaska, is one of North America’s largest undeveloped gold deposits. When in operation, Donlin Gold could be one of the world’s most productive gold mines.
