Their webinar, “Side-by-Side Evaluation of Field-Scale Treatment of PFAS-Impacted Sediments: Smoldering, Thermal Desorption, and Soil Washing Followed by SCWO, HALT, and UV/SGM,” is hosted by the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) and Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP).
Their copresenters are Christopher Higgins from the Colorado School of Mines and Conrad Pritchard from Indiana University.
Elisabeth is a Principal Engineer based in California with more than 15 years of experience advancing environmental remediation projects involving site characterization, fate and transport, remediation, strategies to achieve site closure, and litigation support services. She is co-chair of Geosyntec’s per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) practice and a leader in applied research advancements and the current state of knowledge regarding PFAS regulations, transformations, and treatment.
Hannah is an Engineer based in Missouri who focuses on consulting and academic research regarding the remediation of PFAS. On behalf of clients, she addresses emerging contaminants by engaging in site and remedial investigations and supporting litigation. In addition, she helps clients comply with rapidly changing regulations and standards for sites, including military installations, railyards, Superfund sites, and industrial facilities.
SERDP and ESTCP develop and demonstrate innovative, scalable technologies that enhance military readiness, improve warfighter capabilities, and strengthen defense infrastructure. The programs prioritize smart, cost-effective solutions that support operational effectiveness and reduce regulatory burdens at military installations.
