Mines: EHS Compliance and Management

Mines: EHS Compliance and Management

In the new age of environmental awareness many major mining companies are adopting environmental sustainability and stewardship programs. Geosyntec has developed integrated environmental, health, safety and sustainability management systems for large precious metal mines and coal mines in the United States. These systems use a risk-based approach by identifying those activities that pose the greatest risk to the organization and develops programs to reduce identified risks. These systems ultimately result in improved performance, improved compliance and reduced costs. Our specific skills and capabilities in this area include:

  • ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 certified management system development and implementation
  • Internal management system and compliance audits
  • Management system training for staff and contractors
  • International Cyanide Management Code system development

Our engineers and scientists work hand in hand with mine planning teams to identify and develop engineering solutions to cost effectively take advantage of state-of-the practice environmental sustainability tools and concepts. We assist all levels of an organization in managing the daily aspects of their existing operations through environmental managements systems, policy development, compliance programs, and regulatory research and applicability assessments.
