Geosyntec supports government departments, agencies, and authorities that are entrusted with statewide responsibility for protection of the state's environmental resources, water supply and water resources management, hazardous and solid wastes management, roads and highways, state-owned buildings and lands, university systems, and parks and recreational facilities.

We provide environmental, water resource, solid waste, and geotechnical engineering and consulting services in support of non-enforcement-related programs and projects. For example, under a multi-year contract with a state environmental protection agency, we are providing environmental assessment and remediation services for numerous properties, including dry cleaner chlorinated solvent sites, orphan hazardous waste sites, and state-owned lands. We have also undertaken numerous projects to evaluate, design, and implement stormwater Best Management Practices, often in association with state restoration programs for watersheds, streams, lakes, and wetlands. Our work for state DOTs focuses on the management and application of geotechnical investigation data. We also work with DOTs on the design of highway geotechnical structures such as foundations, embankments, and bridge abutments.

Geosyntec personnel have provided technical training to agency personnel from all 50 states through industry associations, federal agencies, and universities in each of our focus areas. For example, through our active and long standing association with the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC), our senior practitioners collaborate with states and the U.S. EPA to produce guidance documents and training courses for innovative applications, including methods related to remediation of chlorinated solvents and other recalcitrant contaminants in groundwater, Brownfields redevelopment, alternative landfill technologies, management of vapor intrusion, and use of constructed wetlands for treatment of stormwater and wastewater.
