Vapor Intrusion/Groundwater Investigation/Regulatory Support
Release of chlorinated solvents and hexavalent chromium (site COCs) in the 1980s led to a facility listing under the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Corrective Action Program. In the late 1990s, pump and treat (P&T) systems were constructed by a prior contractor as an interim measure to provide hydraulic containment of impacted groundwater. The P&T systems operated at an annual cost of approximately $100,000 with minimal decrease in contaminant mass and required ongoing maintenance. Geosyntec aimed to delineate the groundwater plumes, investigate and address vapor intrusion concerns, and develop a pathway to site closure.
