Buford

The Richland Creek Landfill is a large municipal solid waste landfill located in Buford, Georgia. Leachate collected from the landfill is discharged to the local water reclamation facility under a discharge permit. The permit established effluent limitations for certain parameters, most notably ammonia nitrogen and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD). The permit imposes surcharge limits for these constituents when there concentrations are over the permitted limits.
